I live and work in Altamonte Springs. Florida. The majority of my art quilts are pieced using my own hand dyed cotton fabric which I layer with batting and quilt either by hand or machine.
Because I want to share my love of quilting with others I teach beginning to intermediate level quilt making classes that emphasis the creation of original fiber art for the wall.
My art work has been exhibited widely in national and international venues as part of multi-artist events in which I have won many awards and ribbons and in galleries as a solo artist. My quilts are in many private homes throughout the USA and can be found displayed in both commercial and public places. I am proud to say one of my quilt is in the permanent collection of the prestigious MAQS "Museum of the American Quilter's Society".
Since I was very young I always loved needle arts, math, flowers and fabric never realizing that combining these loves would after a career as a Professional Nurse this would lead to the life of an artist.
My art is about color and how I can move it across the quilted surface. I am inspired by nature and the changing colors of the seasons. I would describe my approach to my art as making "ordered beauty" that pays homage to the tradition of quilt making in America.
